Nicole Sarah Fry is a BIFA qualifying British filmmaker who specialises in period projects. As well as directing, she writes, makes costumes and does the production design to bring the worlds of her shorts alive. Her previous projects include 'Desires & Delusions' (2022), set in 1810, 'Lies on the Line' (2023) the 1960s and 'The Lace' (2025), set in the 1880s. Nicole most recently directed The Pen that Would not Bow , starring Georgia Hirst (Vikings), for the historical streaming platform Yoreflix, and is currently debuting two additional projects on the festival circuit, The Cycling Adventures of Lettice Bly and The Three Graces, which were both filmed in the summer of 2025.
Upcoming Projects
I am about to complete my 1930s black & white film, March on Madison Street, which pays homage to Old Hollywood classic cinema. My next project in pre-production is a comedy short called Don’t Count Your Chickens.
